UKCCSC Early Careers Winter School 2012

10th-12th January 2012, Cambridge

Applications are now invited from Early Career Researchers and academics in the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) fields for the UKCCSC Winter School 2012, to be held at the University of Cambridge. By Early Career we mean post-graduate research students, post-doctoral staff and new lecturers. There will be space for up to 50 delegates at the Winter School.

Applications must be submitted using the online EasyChair conference system.

Your application must include the following:

• Applicant statement – written by the applicant, indicating reasons why you would like to attend and what you feel you will contribute to the event
• A short abstract presenting your work (up to 1 A4 page)
• Letter or email of support from your supervisor or manager

The deadline for submission of applications is 5pm (UK time) on Wednesday, 30th November.

Applicants will be notified via email regarding their application status on Monday 12th December 2011. The full programme will be circulated to successful applicants at this time.

Programme description:

• The UKCCSC Winter School 2012 will start with an evening reception on Monday, 9 January.
• The programme of activities begins on Tuesday, 10 January, and closes on Thursday, 12 January.
• A networking dinner has been scheduled for the night of 10 January on the Cambridge campus.
• Programme includes peer panel sessions, delegate presentations and expert focus sessions.
• The sessions will expose delegates to the various elements of CCS, including capture, transport and storage technologies as well as the surrounding regulatory frameworks.
